Years after David defeated Goliath, he found himself on the run from King Saul (see 1 Samuel 21). Hungry, tired, and desperate, he went to the priest at Nob. There he asked for a weapon—and the priest handed him Goliath’s sword. The very weapon meant to kill David was now placed in his hands. Only God can do that.

Church tithing is not actually about money. It is (1) about participating in a community effort to spread the gospel and help those in need; and (2) separating us from our dependence on money and instead onto God. The church uses these funds to run programs for children, youth, and adults. It also supports local charities and global missions.
